This Riffe Horizontal Reel features the new clutch-type drag system. It has 4 positions activated by a lever on the side of the reel. This gives you the option to reduce or increase the drag on your reel. The Drag system lets you put more or less pressure on your fish as it runs. Even on the locked down setting a fish can still pull some line from the reel, so you can always keep a hold of your speargun.
This Riffe Reel mounts on all Riffe spearguns as well as other manufactures that feature similar barrel shapes. The FLAT mount reel easily installs on the pre-made screws on the underside of the Riffe Euro Series and the Marauder Series of Riffe Spearguns. The RADIAL mount reel is ideal for the rounded body Riffe Competitor, Standard, and Mid-Handle Series of spearguns. The Radial reel comes with two wood screws to install on these Riffe wooden spearguns.
You have the option to have the reel spooled with 1000 lbs test reel line. Keep even the strongest fish from getting away by having the sturdiest reel line on the market.
